Chema Alonso is a world-renowned security expert who regularly presents his experience and skills at the most prestigious conferences, such as BlackHat.
He is currently Chairman at ElevenPaths, a Telefónica subsidiary focused on innovation in security products through proprietary developments and alliances with the leading manufacturers and organizations in the industry.
He previously ran Informática 64, a computer security and training company, for 14 years. He holds a doctorate in Computer Security from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid. He graduated as a Computer Engineer at URJC and holds a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Polytechnic University in Madrid, which also appointed him as Honorary Ambassador for the University’s Computer Science campus in 2012.
As the Global Director for Big Data B2B at the Telefónica Group, Elena’s responsibility is to help corporate customers on their Big Data adoption journey, enabling them to become data-driven companies, providing an extensive portfolio of cutting-edge Big Data solutions.
Elena holds a degree in Economics and Business studies from Deusto University (Spain) and an MBA from MIT-Sloan School of Management (USA). She has also completed studies at Berkeley University (USA) and EDHEC de Lille (France). Elena joined Telefónica in 2000. Since then, she has held prominent managerial positions at Telefónica International and Telefónica Latinoamérica, in the units of Large Corporations, Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and Consumer businesses. From 2014 to 2016, Elena was the BI & Big Data Global Director at Telefonica Group, responsible for leveraging customer insights for internal use and external monetization, leading the transformation of Telefónica into a data-driven company.
Before joining Telefónica, she worked for McKinsey and HI Holding (Spain) and Mitchel Madison Group (USA).
José Luis Gilpérez has been responsible for the commercialization of Big Data services in Spain since 2016.
Since 2013, he has also led Telefónica to become a leader in Corporate Security Services in Spain, which operates alongside the Commercial Area for the Defense sector.
He has more than 25 years of professional experience in Information Technology, in particular in Business Intelligence and Information Security working throughout his entire career in the Telefónica Group.
Previously he was the Global Director for Platform Development (2010-2011) and the Global Director for Products and Innovation (2011 – 2013) in the Global Security Unit. In this role, he was responsible for the launch of Security Operation Centres, leading projects in Madrid (Spain), Miami (US), Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Lima (Peru).
Carme Artigas is founder of Synergic Partners, a strategic and technology consultancy firm specialized in Big Data and Data Science. The company was founded in 2006 and since then it has continued to grow expanding internationally its Big Data analytics offering and services. Carme is a demanded speaker in Big Data conferences, Innovation, e-commerce, and Data governance conferences, such as Strata-Hadoop World where she has been a regular speaker for the last 3 years.
In addition to running the company as CEO, Carme is member of Industry Affiliate Partners at Columbia University NYC Data Science Institute and member of the Innovation Board of CEOE, the most relevant Business Organization in Spain.
Carme Artigas is Master of Science in Chemical Engineering by and Master in Business Administration by University Ramon Llull of Barcelona. Also, she has an Executive Degree in Venture Capital by the Haas School of University of Berkeley in California.
She has more than 20 years of expertise in the telecommunications and IT fields and a broad experience in several executive roles and as a Board Member in more than 10 technology companies. Carme also had several sits as Board Advisor in relevant governmental institutions.
Prior to founding Synergic Partners, Carme was the CEO of Ericsson Innova, the venture capital firm of European telecom leader Ericsson. She has been co-founder and Chairman of WIVA (International Wireless Internet Venture Association).
Carme started her career in Procter&Gamble where she had several management positions, collaborated with United Nations in Costa Rica and also worked as Scientific Researcher in the Max Planck Institute in Germany.
During his more than 20 years of professional career, Carlos Marina has developed different roles and responsibility in Marketing areas of different new technology companies such as France Telecom Group and Informatica El Corte Ingles. In 2000 he join Telefónica Group for developing new 3G Licensing in European markets, since then he has participated in many projects in different Telefenonica group subsidiaries until 2010 when he became Marketing and Sales Director at onthespot.
In 2015, he assumed the charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of onthespot and Smartretail Director as part of the Telefonica IoT new organization. In this way he is accepting the challenge for onthespot to consolidate its leadership in the digitalization of physical spaces, to improve in-store customers experience and to facilitate the communication between the brands and their clients with innovative end-to-end solutions.
Dave Sweeney is the Commercial Lead for the Public and Transport sectors in the UK within the Smart Steps team. He has been working for Telefónica for over 5 years and has over 15 years’ experience in the data analytics field, selling both data platforms and enterprise software solutions. He presents regularly about cutting-edge data solutions in the transport sector. Dave's contribution has been key in lobbying Public Sector and the Department for Transport to accept this disruptive technology, maintaining that mobile data can be used in improving transport planning, providing groundbreaking insights to the public sector and transport consultancies.
Pedro Pablo has a deep experience in security; during the 00’s he has been working both protecting the Telco and their Customers. Innovation has always been a top concern for him: “I believe that innovation is a must in the new cybersecurity wave to face and anticipate today’s threats”.
He has been working in the IT security industry for more than 15 years. He’s participated in the deployment of global security operation centers in Spain, Latin America and USA. He has defined the new cybersecurity portfolio and leads innovation security proposition for Telefonica´s internal and external customers. For the last three years, he has defined, designed, deployed and sold the Telefónica Security Portfolio across 15 countries and 3 continents.
Degree in Computer Science and Global MBA in IESE. Additionally he holds many security certifications like CISA, CISM, ITIL Service Manager, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, etc.
